This predominantly strategic and hands-on culinary leadership role will focus on helping us launch and grow the Good Eating Company in New York City. Our goal is to become the premier onsite hospitality brand in North America. We are obsessed with local products, culture, hospitality, great food, and being the best in class. The Good Eating Company seeks a Director of Culinary with strong leadership skills and culinary acumen.

This role will focus initially on launching and growing our business in NYC with the capability to scale the region. In this role, you will partner with leadership in developing our culinary strategy and best-in-class food and culinary programming. As a proven leader with a demonstrated commitment to excellence, you will be key in setting and implementing culinary standards and guidance ranging from amazing food to best-in-class execution, training, costing, and production.

A Successful Candidate will:
  • Deep knowledge of local and regional products and cuisine styles with the ability to translate innovative ideas into unique menu items and recipes.
  • Experience managing multiple locations, with the ability to foster relationships and direct teams to support our vision and additional market growth.
  • Strong leader who effectively manages, leads, and communicates with the team and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates proven results with food costs, labor costs, controllable expenses, targets, and goal setting.
  • A positive “can do” attitude – and “sense of urgency,” always willing to go the extra mile and offer 100% commitment to our guests, clients, and colleagues.
  • Has a keen eye for detail to provide expert guidance relating to hospitality and culinary.
  • Strong cooking skills with a diversified repertoire.
  • Can think strategically and systematically with the capability to articulate both.
  • Drive solutions that optimize the current business portfolio
  • Play a key role and enthusiastically supports the succession planning and development of key culinary personnel within the area of responsibility.
  • Develops and promotes a comprehensive culinary solution offering to clients – this includes collaborating with senior leaders and Business Development to grow GEC’s business in the assigned market.
  • Can develop and manage exceptional client relations and ensure the facility’s product offerings/solutions align with client needs.
